Due to the cancellation of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon that originally scheduled on 9 February, the uniform for CUHK marathon team members will subsequently not be distributed this year. Thank you for your support to CUHK and we look forward to your participation next year.

Cheering Team
We need your support! We are recruiting Cheering Team members to cheer CUHK runners and to provide logistic support on the day of the event. Cheerers can choose their preferable spots, such as:
Western Harbour Crossing, Central, Hennessy Road (Causeway Bay), Victoria Park. You are welcomed to be the cheering leaders to lead the teams!
Eligibility
All CUHK students, staff, and alumni are welcome to join our Cheering Team.

The annual Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon will take place on 21 January 2018 (Sunday). Registration via a public ballot entry system will run from 16 August to 6 September, to be members of the CUHK Marathon Team, runners must be successful registrants of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2018. Please register via Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2018 and do not miss the chance!

Award Presentation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, 22 April 2017 at 10:00 am in Lecture Theatre 2, Yasumoto International Academic Park, CUHK. Details of the ceremony will be announced to the respective winners in due course.

A total of over 3,100 runners joined the CUHK Marathon Team this year, making CUHK the second largest group in the Marathon. Prof. Joseph Sung, CUHK Vice-Chancellor also joined the 10km session of the race, in the hope of encouraging more students to accept the challenge.

Thanks to the support of over 3,100 runners, the CUHK Marathon Team received the ‘Most Supportive Group Award’ in the Standard Chartered HK Marathon as the second largest team.
On the race day, a support team of over 450 CUHK students, alumni, teachers and staff will cheer for runners along the marathon course and CUHK Sports Medicine Team will be stationed at the booth located at the finish point to provide on-field physiotherapy for runners. All CUHK Marathon Team runners are welcome to visit the CUHK booth, where they can enjoy welcoming hot drinks, pick up souvenir towels and capture cheerful moments with photos.
To prep CUHK runners for the race, Miss Alison Chow, an Assistant Lecturer from the Physical Education Unit talked about pacing management in a short video earlier. In this issue, two CUHK lecturers Mr. Daniel Lee and Mr. Chan Chi Ming will introduce more tactics for runners, such as optimal drafting position, cutting corners, reeling in the runners, and positive mantras during the run.
